World Cup 2010 Group A - games 1 and 2

Long time ago I used to make similar plates for the big tournaments. Then I had lot more free time to write the details and draw the kits worn for each game. Now I don't have so much time, but the technology help us to do faster all kind of things. After I have finished the 32 teams for the World Cup I got an idea to make the plates for each group. Then I thought why not make it for each game, and here are the plates for the first two games. Until the end of the World Cup I decided to post only this plates. My only participation will be at the Copa de Mockups and Campeonato de Mockups competitions. A break at designing (new kits) is necesary, because I get a bit tired.
Shortly I will present one plate, the rest of them will not need any other explanations. The plate will contain the name of the group, the date and the place of the game, the referees, the result and the goal scorers, the line-ups and the managers of the two team. Also an important part of the plate are the kits of the teams, not the real ones but the fantasy designs made by me, respecting as much as possible the colours of the kits worn in the game.
The first game was between South Africa and Mexico:
The second game in the Group A was Uruguay vs France:

France World Cup 2010 fantasy kits (lcs)

This is a requested kit by Bastien on the http://www.footballshirtculture.com/ site. After the positive comments about the kit, choosed to post it here too. This is the le coq sportif template used for Everton some months ago, only some minor changes on the kit.
The away kit is white shirt, blue short and red socks, the combination used some decades ago as second choice.

South Africa's World Cup has its 32 teams

On Friday December 4th we will find out how the group stages will look for the XIX World Cup to take place in South Africa next Summer.

We now know the 32 countries that qualified for the world Cup:

For CONCACAF it was The United States, Mexico and Honduras.

For CONMEBOL it was Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.

For Africa it was Algeria, Camerun, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria and the host South Africa.

For Asia it was Australia, North Korea, South Korea and Japan.

For UEFA: England, Denmark, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, Greece Serbia, Portugal, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands,

Oh and Last but not least New Zealand.

There are really no "Virgins" that will participate in the South African World Cup though some might argue Slovakia and Serbia are first timers. The Slovaks were part of Checoslovakia and the Serbs have a long tradition with Yugoslavia and the last WC played as Serbia and Montenegro.

Who will win? My bet is with Spain and Brazil!

Girondins de Bordeaux F.C. fantasy kits

Full name: Football Club des Girondins de Bordeaux
City: Bordeaux
League: Ligue 1
Stadium: Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas
Fouded: 1881
Shirt sponsor: KIA, Cdiscount, PICHET
Kit manufacturer: PUMA

They're the actual champion of France. I made for them three kits in three different colours, traditional for the club. The design is very simple at first site, but there are some V stripes on arms and back of the shirt made from different fabric (and a bit lighter shade of blue). The front white V hase correspondence on the back of the short and the back of the socks (there is only the lower part of the V). Otherwise I try to respect the sponsors and their positions like the present (09/10) kit.
The away kit is the opposite of the home one, all white with dark blue V on the chest, back of the short and back side of the socks.
The third kit is dark red (burgundy) colour with white V on front of the shirt, back of the short ond socks.

A.S. Monaco fantasy kits

Full name: Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club
City: Monaco
League: Ligue 1
Stadium: Stade Louis II
Fouded: 1924
Shirt sponsor: FEDCOM, HSBC
Kit manufacturer: PUMA

I used a design similar with the other Puma template of mine. For the home kit I made a several variants, combining the red short and socks with the white ones (variants used by A.S. Monaco). A first standard design with white short and socks.
A second variant with red short and white socks (classic for the 8o's).
A third version with red short and socks.
The fourth version has white short and red socks.
Because of the design of the shirt (with two halfs in different colours) must be used more away kits. I made three versions all red, all white and all dark grey. The all red is used in games against all white teams.
The all white is needed against teams with all red kits.
The dark grey kit is used in games against striped shirts in white and red colours.

PSG fantasy kits

Full name: Paris Saint-Germain Football Club
City: Paris
League: Ligue 1
Stadium: Parc des Princes
Fouded: 1970
Shirt sponsor: Emirates, Poweo, Elior, PSG TV
Kit manufacturer: Nike

Continuing with French teams, I get to the PSG kit. Being a big fan of their kit, I design a few kit until I got the desired result. It's a simple design, suitable for a lots of sponsor logos (caracteristic for French League). Not that I'm happy with, but this is the reality. I barely wait to start the work at the national teams, there are no sponsors on the kits.
The away kit is all white, may be combined with blue short and blue socks.
The third kit was designed for games against blue-white or black-white teams.

A.S. Saint-Étienne fantasy kits

Full name: Association Sportive
Saint-Étienne Loire
City: Saint-Étienne
League: Ligue 1
Stadium: Stade Geoffroy-Guichard
Fouded: 1919
Shirt sponsor: Fruité, Conseil Général LOIRE, Teisseire, INVICTA,
Kit manufacturer: adidas

An other favorit of mine, I always like their kits. This is diferrent type of Marseille's design.
The away kit is the complementar of the home. It may be used all white also.
A third kit in dark green colour may be used against striped kits.
About sponsors I try to be accurate as possible, only two changes, I moved the INVICTA logo to the back to balance the kit, and left out the arm sponsor.

This second variant made by request. Initially I avoided to use this light green because not want to copy the actual away kit. But for my brother...

Olympique Marseille fantasy kits

Full name: Olympique de Marseille
City: Marseille
League: Ligue 1
Stadium: Stade Vélodrome
Fouded: 1899
Shirt sponsor: DIRECT ENERGIE, Touax, INTERSPORT
Kit manufacturer: adidas

Olimpique Marseille had always impresed us with beautiful kits. This is my try to continue the line. My designs for adidas kits are not based on the classic three stripes on arms and shorts. I'll try a diferrent approach of the stripes and their possition.

I use for the away kit dark blue.
The third kit is a remake of the 2007/2008 season kit, a little bit strange combination but as third or European kit I guess it's ok.
The fourth kit is the opposite for the home kit.

Tug of War Between Chelsea and Real Madrid over 6 year old

Madin Mohammed is said to be the new Zinedine Zidane after he attracted the attention of top level talent scouts with his soccer skills and you can see it in the video below.

The boy's family moved to France from Algeria when he was three, while the French soccer legend Zidane was born in France to Algerian parents.

The kids got some moves!
