We have just confirmed via Jorge Ramos y Su Banda ESPN Radio that Barcelona will play Chivas in Miami on August 3, 2011.
The rumor had been that Barcelona would meet AC Milan, but it turns out that announcement was premature. No deal was made so instead it will be Mexico's most followed team against European giant FC Barcelona.

Real Madrid fantasy kits

Full name: Real Madrid Club de Fútbol
City: Madrid
League: La Liga
Stadium: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu
Fouded: 1902
Shirt sponsor: bwin.com
Kit manufacturer: adidas

These designs are made for my brother, a big Real Madrid fan. The design is based on the original Real Madrid kit, with an oblique stripe. Here the stripe is coloured only in the upper part, on the left shoulder. The adidas three stripes are white as the kit and can be seen only in the parts where intersect the dark blue trims and the oblique stripe.
The away kit is dark blue with golden three stripes on the sides of the shirt, shorts and socks. The three stripes on the sleeves are in the same colour as the shirt. The oblique stripe is darker shade of blue than the main colour, also the trims. The third kit for Real is not so necesary, and often clashes with the away kit (regarding the colours, all dark coloured kit), therefore is presented and used as European kit. I choosed a lighter shade of purple for the shirt and darker shade for shorts and socks and trims aswell. The three stripes are white.

Real Betis Seville fantasy kits

Full name: Real Betis Balompié S.A.D.
City: Seville
League: Segunda División
Stadium: Manuel Ruiz de Lopera
Fouded: 1907
Shirt sponsor: Andalucia (fantasy)
Kit manufacturer: Kappa (fantasy)

I know that Real Betis are no longer playing in Kappa kits for the second season, but in my oppinion the Kappa style suited very well this club for many years. Therefore I used the design made for Borussia Dortmund. Also the sponsor is not present on their shirts. The home kit is green and white striped shirt, white shorts and green and white socks.
The away kit is all green (two shades of green) same design as the home one.
The third kit has blue shirt with white sleeves and black round neck and trims. Also the shorts are black, and the socks are blue and white with black turnovers.

Copa Do Mundo de Mockups kits

With great joy I present my participation to Copa Do Mundo de Mockups, organised by a kits design comunity called Mockups de Camisas de Futebol.
Here is the link for the blog were the competition was hosted: http://copademockups.blogspot.com/2010/07/final-copa-do-mundo-de-mockups.html
The theme of the competition was the World Cup 2010, and I had the task to make the home and away kit for Italy.
The design is the transposition of this one made for the World Cup project . The presentation was mandatory on the template used by all the 32 participants.
http://footballkitsdesign.blogspot.com/2010/01/italy-world-cup-2010-fantasy-kits.html
The competition was based on the real World Cup game style, 8 groups with 4 teams each. In every group the teams are played against each other, and the votes of the 32 participants represented the final score for every game. After the group stage followed the las of 16, the quarter-finals and the semi-finals. After the semi-finals were played, the two finalist had the task to made the kits for one of the two real finalist (Spain and Netherlands), the same for third place play-off game (Uruguay and Germany). Therefore I made the designs for Spain.
This is a version for the away kit that was not posted, I was not sure wich of the two away kit to chose.
This is the original design on wich is based the one used in the Final.
http://footballkitsdesign.blogspot.com/2010/03/spain-world-cup-2010-fantasy-kits.html
And here is the stamp wich shows that I won the competition.
It was an interesting competition with lots of good designs. I want to thank to the organizers and to the competitors to for choosing my designs as the winner. Also about this competition and other news and information about kits designs you can read (if you understand Portuguese) here:

Spain Win 1-0 Against Historically Troublesome Opponents, But Are Still Showing Lackluster Form

Jesus Navas, who started the match for Spain today, scored the only goal in the match. It was a stunning shot from outside the 18 that led to his first goal on the national team.

Today was another international friendly for Spain, this time against a team who we've had serious bad luck against in the past: Korea. We would crack that bad luck today, but in a rather unconvincing win.

From the start, the game was sloppy, resurrecting my fears that maybe Spain has suddenly lost their form. In all fairness, Korea was also rather erratic and sloppy in their play, and were actually rather pushy and physical. Spain had a few good looks in the first half, the first real dangerous chance coming from when a long ball was played into Mata right outside the 6 yard area. Mata went to volley the ball towards goal, but a Korean defender blocked his leg from releasing the shot, resulting in cries for a penalty from the Spaniards, but the referee waved away the protests. Korea would create their first real threat when a striker blasted a shot from outside the 18, going just wide of the left post. Spain would again get a chance when Mata would have a give-and-go on the wing. He received it once more and passed it to Fabregas who was waiting outside the 18. Fabregas let one fly towards the top right, but it would deflect off the cross bar and out. Korea's last dangerous chance, and probably the most dangerous one of the half, would come right at the 45 minute mark. The Koreans would enter the 18 and would attempt a shot, but Reina rushed out to block it. As the ball went loose, the Spanish defense would scramble for the ball, but would fail to clear it, leaving Reina off his line, and the net practically wide open. The Korean took the shot, but Reina stretched out and blocked the ball, keeping Spain and Korea level at half time.

The first half play was sloppy, and in most cases, predictable. Spain played too many long balls in to the head of Llorente, but he would never capitalize. Also, the overuse of the right flank and Jesus Navas as an option would become very predictable, as the Koreans caught on quickly, sending 2 defenders shortly after to double team him. Spain's ground play, particularly smack dab in center field of the opposing side, would be rather inaccurate, unorganized, and would lead to a few sloppy turn overs. The Koreans weren't much better, as they too had the same issues. Spain had most of the possession, but the plays became so readable and inaccurate, that nothing would even come of them. The toughest obstacle for Spain was probably the Koreans physicality, as they were pushy and put a ton of pressure, giving the players practically no room to breath.

The second half started and it was the same game, until maybe 20 or so minutes in when Del Bosque decided to bring in a few substitutes that were sitting on the bench. Spain's secondary team got the start today, so many of the starters sat the bench. However, Del Bosque brought in a few key players that changed the game for sure. The entrance of David Villa, Pedro, and Xavi all had a huge impact on the game. The plays became more effective, Spain moved up and attacked a little faster, and the accuracy improved quite a bit. Xavi had an immediate impact on the midfield, creating accurate plays plenty of times to give the offense the chance to score. He moved the ball up and controlled the midfield efforts. Villa was a breath of fresh air in the offense, as Llorente was ineffective. Villa helped spur offensive chances by pulling back and helping make plays with the midfield. He had a few chances to give Spain the edge, the best of which would have been a sure goal, as he was in the 18 with a defender on him. He took a shot that would have been the goal to put Spain ahead, only, the Korean defender put his leg in at the last minute, causing it to deflect and go out for a corner. Pedro also improved Spain's game, as his work ethic would have an influence on the offensive efforts. He put a lot of pressure of the Korean defense, and would win a few balls. Also, his speed and attacks on the left flank would create chances for Spain, none of which would be finished off, however. Eventually, as the match came to a close, it looked again like a sub-par game would end in a tie. However, Spain proved everyone wrong again, after Jesus Navas would score a golazo from outside the 18 late in the second half. The game would stay 1-0, and Spain would notch another win in their Pre-World Cup campaign.

Its hard to decide how to take Spain's lackluster form as of late. Is Spain just not showing everything they've got? Are they just taking it easy, as the World Cup is only 8 days away? Are they just having a few bad games? I'm not exactly sure. Honestly, I'd rather they get these sloppy and inaccurate games out of their system now, and show up for real in South Africa, but I still can't stop worrying. Teams like England and The Netherlands are winning their friendlies convincingly...but still, maybe that can come back to bite them. Its all fine and dandy to impress everyone before the World Cup, but what really matters is whether or not you show up in South Africa. Its great if you win all your friendlies and look threatening, but you have to save it for when it matters. Maybe Spain is just taking it easy, rather than risking injury and getting tired, all over a friendly that means nothing. Still, their form has been pretty bad, and its a little unsettling to see them play like this only 8 days before the World Cup. What happened to the old Spain that would convincingly take down any opponents in a heartbeat, playing beautiful, accurate, attacking football in the process? I'm not sure, but all I hope is that Spain regains their solid form and brings it to South Africa, and leaves this lackluster one behind.

Atletico Madrid fantasy kits

Full name: Club Atlético de Madrid, S.A.D.
City: Madrid
League: La Liga
Stadium: Vicente Calderón
Fouded: 1903
Shirt sponsor: KIA, KYOCERA
Kit manufacturer: NIKE

There is no more appropriate occasion than this to present the kits of Atletico Madrid, the fresh winner of first Europa League trophy. The design for Atletico was made some time ago, but now after they delighted me in the final game, I manged to finish the work and post it. There are two kind of kits, the home kit has the second sponsor on the back of the shirt and the Spanish La Liga badges on the sleeves, and the away kit is presented as European kit, without sponsor on the back and with Europa League badges. The home kit is composed of red and white striped shirt, with red and white collar, blue short and red socks.
A second version of the home kit with red short, is often used by Atletico in games vs teams wearing blue.
The away kit has blue shirt with dark blue sleeves and collar, dark blue short and blue socks.

F.C. Barcelona fantasy kits

Full name: Futbol Club Barcelona
City: Barcelona
League: La Liga
Stadium: Camp Nou
Fouded: 1899
Shirt sponsor: unicef (sponsored by F.C. Barcelona)
Kit manufacturer: Nike

This is the first design from a new series, a new presentation (not new for me, somehow I return to the style I designed in the past). I have already sketches for Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Celtic Glasgow, Arsenal and Red Star Belgrade (all Nike teams). The approach on this new kits will be more classic then my usual designs. On this Barcelona kit I used the darker shade of red as it was last season (not a fan of red and blue combination).
The away kit is sky blue shirt with thin pinstripes on the front and back (not on shoulders and sleeves) with dark red line on the sides. The short and the socks are dark blue with dark red. This pair of kits needs a third kit, something in orange or yellow colour to be used in games vs teams wearing blue. But in first step there will be only home and away kits for this series.

Federation: Royal Spanish Football Federation
Confederation: UEFA (Europe)

This feature is present on the blue short and on the socks also.
A variant of the home kit with blue socks, as they wear some years ago.
The away kit has blue shirt with red trims on sleeves and yellow stripes. The short and socks can be white or blue.
An all blue version for second choice (away games).
