Road Trip to Tampa! Sign up and support Miami FC on July 4, 2010

Folks it's time to sign up! We are a little under a month away from our match versus hated in state rival the Tampa Bay Rowdies! But we need people to commit!
On July 4, 2010 the Miami FC Blues will play the Tampa Bay Rowdies up in Tampa and we need all South Florida soccer fans to travel with the Ultras to support our team. Last time our teams played here in South Florida Tampa's fan group Ralph's Mob came down in numbers so now its our turn to do the same.
To sign up please go to this link http://www.miamisoccerfan.com/Soccer/roadtrip.html If we get enough people we will try to get a bus to take us up there and back. We need all Miami Ultras, Southern Legion, SF3's and soccer fans in general. Let's show our support.

Here is a flashback video of The Ft. Lauderdale Strikers as they defeated the Tampa Bay Rowdies 3-2 in a North American Soccer League playoff match on August 20, 1978 at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Hola amigos! Everyones favorite dawg Burrito here wit mucho info on the Blues loss against those pinches Aztex! What can Miami FC do to make this team bettererer?
Burrito's amigos at Miami Soccer Fan have an idea. El Presidente of the Miami Ultras Pieter Brown break it down like this:
This year Miami FC spent some time and money to put a better team on the field. We have a plethora of MLS and international talent on this team. Players like Christian Gomez, Abe Thompson, Chris Gbandi, Kyle Veris and Mike Randolph have all shown well in MLS, yet few have shown up for the Blues...
Pieters pretty much calls everyone and their mami out for not playing with huevos! From the coach to the water boy! (ok maybe not water boy but the players si!) Read more about it HERE

Miami FC now have a turd supporters group! First came the Miami Ultras, then the Southern Legion and now the South Florida "Football Fanaticos". This is how they describes themselves:
South Florida "Football Fanaticos" (SF3s) are a Football Supporters Association in West Palm Beach Florida. The SF3s are supporters of Miami FC Blues who play at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. SF3s are also supporters of all soccer in South Florida along with the hopes of a future MLS team. Miami FC is part of the United States Soccer Federation Division 2 Pro-League (USSF D-2)in the North American Soccer League(NASL).
They set up a pretty cool blog you can read it whiles eating a rica quesadilla! Go HERE

In case you no no, Miami FC have something called Miami FC TV. Like many things Miami FC, sometimes people no hear about them cause Miami FC like to keeps things secrets or somethings. So Burrito here to tell all that it really, really exists and no longer secrets! Usually it half Miami FC's Annie interviewing players. Miami ties in the last minute with Fan videos

This weekend I was a little late to write about the game, suffice to say the Blues came back from what seemed a loss and shocked us with a late goal that sent the fans into a frenzy. The Miami Ultras as always were present as well as a surprisingly loud Southern Legion. I hope they started a trend and will make it to more games.

For more on the game check out the following links:

Miami FC Blues vs The Carolina Railhawks Saturday at Lockhart Stadium

It's that time folks. Time to take the coolers out, buy some Hotdiggity dogs, some meat and bust out that old trusty grill and head out to Lockhart Stadium as South Florida's own Miami FC "Blues" gets ready to de-rail the visiting Carolina Railchickens! Yes, it's this Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 8 pm. Don't forget the Miami Ultras are organizing a Tailgate starting at 5:30 pm and not too far away in another section of the parking lot the Southern Legion will be doing the same thing, so you have alternatives!

Miami Ultras president Pieter Brown has designed the Beer logo that you see on this blog. How do you like them apples? Not bad don't you think? Don't be surprised if The Ultras start their own brewery! This might just become the official beer of Miami FC, USL, The United States Soccer Federation, FIFA and the world!
I wouldn't mind a nice cold Ultras Beer! So meet us for some fun times before we destroy the RailChickens!

According to the Miami FC site: The only player that will be missing is starting left back Walter Ramirez, who received a red card in the game against the Charleston Battery. Otherwise the team is complete and we could see the first glimpse of Cubans Reiner Alcantara and Pedro Faife. Carolina's coach Martin Rennie has some ex-MLSers like Brian Plotkin, Dan Paladini, John Cunliffe, and Gavin Gliton.

For ticket info go to Miami FC or call 305-728-2606
Vamos Miami! Let's go Blues!

Miami FC: Cubans should be ready to play this Saturday and more...

Since Miami FC had this week off there wasn't much to write about. But here is some information as we get ready for our match against the Carolina "Chickenhawks" to take place this Saturday at Lockhart Stadium:

Our good friend Robert Scorca witnessed a practice last week at Tropical Park and mentioned seeing former Haitian national team defender Stéphane Guillaume practicing with the team. After further investigation it appears Guillaume is only practicing with the team to remain fit and will not be part of the Blues this season. Some of you might remember Stéphane as he once played for the Blues starting in 2006.

Robert Scorca also writes a good piece over at the Miami Ultras site concerning the scrimmage between Miami FC Kendall U-18 and the U.S.A. U-17. For more on that click here.

Argentine defender Facundo Erpen might be Europe bound per the Miami Herald. This will be a great loss if it materializes

Cuban Players Reinier Alcantara (#23) and Pedro Faife (#13) should be ready to make their debut this Saturday if all legal issues are finalized this Friday. I'm looking forward to see what both of these players can do. Alcantara is remembered for scoring a goal against Mexico in the Gold Cup in 2007. Here is a video of that game and goal:

Stay tuned as Miami FC players will make appearances on TV and radio this week. We will keep you informed!
Don't forget to Come out and Support your Miami FC against the Carolina Railhawks this Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 8 pm at Lockhart Stadium. Tailgate at 6pm and both supporters Groups should be out there (Miami Ultras and Southern Legion) so come have a beer with us!
For ticket info go to Miami FC or call 305-728-2606

Miami FC: The Southern Legion make their presence felt at Lockhart Stadium

The Southern Legion is Miami FC's new fan group!
Formed on the ashes of the failed MLS Miami Barcelona bid, this group of rag tag soccer fans want to make a difference!
On Friday April 24, at 8PM, when Miami FC plays versus the Montreal Impact, The Southern Legion (Legion del Sur) expect to be a force to be reckoned with.
I spoke to Sean Gibb and Luis Rodriguez, founders of the group who say "FIU is our turf, our back yard" and they expect to be out there in force!
Good job guys, we need to make FIU stadium a fort, our home is our battle ground and along with the Ultras we need to make the Impact or any team that visits us fear the very idea of stepping a foot in our home!
Vamos Miami!!! Lets go Blues! For more pictures of the Southern Legion (Legion del Sur) and if you want to join them go to: The Southern Legion Facebook page

Miami FC bring down the "Stars" in vibrant match at Lockhart Stadium.

What a great start to the USL season for Miami FC "Blues" as they defeated the Cleveland City Stars by 3-1

The Sun Sentinel's Jeff Rusnack wrote this quote from Ray Hudson:
"It's a wonderful night and a good atmosphere from the fans, especially with just two weeks' notice that they were playing here"
"Diego Serna, 35, made plays reminiscent of his Miami Fusion days in leading Miami FC to a season-opening victory."Miami Herald
"Miami FC opened its 2009 USL season with a 3-1 victory over the 2008 USL- 2 Champions, Cleveland City Stars." Miami FC site

The ambiance was electric, The Miami Ultras never ceased to yell and the Southern Legion also showed up to make their presence felt. Both fan groups competed in their chants; but remained firm in their resolve to Support their team till the end. Lockhart hadn't felt this alive since the Miami Fusion days and this marked the return of U.S. Professional Soccer in Broward County after years of absence.

The festivities never truly begin until the guest of honor has arrived, "the Goal". Alen Marcina scored the first off of a Diego Serna header to make it 1-0 but Cleveland leveled it as Haitian international Ricardo Pierre-Louis made it 1-1. The Stars couldn't enjoy it for long as Diego Serna scored on a break away to make it 2-1 Blues and finally Brazilian Leo Inacio Nunes made it 3-1 Miami FC off of another Serna pass.
It was Serna who put this team on his shoulders with a goal and two assist making him easily the man of the match. Notable mentions go out to Zach Kirby who was solid in the back and Walter Ramirez on the flank.

In the end the chants of "Diego, Diego, Diego" filled the stadium and the Miami FC players left with their heads up high. Next up the Montreal Impact at FIU stadium on Friday April 24 at 8pm!

Miami FC - Songs and Chants by Burrito

Hola Miami Futbol fans! (For non espanglish speakers click over highlighted words)
Burrito see blog by Uncle Ed about Futbol songs & chants for Miami FC (see below post) and Burrito think he can help all the vatos from the Ultras and Southern Legion by giving them carnales some good examples of songs they can sing. Next time Burrito make you chingones pay him!
When Burrito grow up in Toluca, Mexico, he used to listen to July Church (Julio Iglesias) and did you putos know July used to play professional futbol in Espana? Si! That way before Enrique Iglesias was even a sperm in his left huevo! Bueno, that another story Burrito will write about, but his song with that mota lover Willy Nelson called "To all the girls I loved before" inspired Burrito to be a futbol star! Why? Cause Burrito love womens and want to be good player so he can get some hot mamacitas. Pero, that never happens cause Burrito not good player and he look so uglys, pero so uglys not even his mami love him! Burrito so ugly his mami refuse to breast feed him! Pero bueno, ok, here is songs that Burrito think Miami Fans can sing at Miami FC games! Vamos Miami!

1.- This one everyone knows By Wilard Esmith "Welcome to Miami"

Miami
Party in the city where the heat is on
All night, on the beach till the break of dawn
Welcome to Miami
Bienvenidos a Miami!

2.-"I'm In Miami Bitch", by LMAO.
With this song we tell MLS, USL and all the teams in the world they are Miami FC's bitches! Cause Miami Rules!

Drink all day
Play all night
Let's get it poppin'
I'm in Miami bitch
Drink all day
Play all night
Let's get it poppin' I'm in Miami bitch!

3.- "Miami" by Osvaldo Rodriguez
Cuban singer gets political but Burrito like cause it could be good to sing for all these pinches teams who are up north and wish they could have Miami's bitches and beaches! Yeeehaaa!

Miami
Yo no me voy de aqui
No quiero ir a ningun lugar
Yo no saco pasaporte
Yo quiero ver lo que va a pasar

4.- Jingle by the Golden Girls called "Miami"
For some reason Burrito always get woody for Dorothy, she sing like siren calling Burrito to make sweet hate to her...

Miami, Miami, you got style
Blue sky sunshine, White sand by the mile
When you live in this town, each day is sublime
the coldest of winters are worm and divine
Miami, Miami!

Ok, so some of these not too good but at least Burrito trying! You got better ideas? tell Burrito and you get free quesadilla! Vamos Miami, buy Miami FC tickets! Game this Saturday April 18th!

Calling all Miami Fans! Ultras and Southern Legion, lend me your ears!

Calling all South Florida Soccer fans!

We need to unite and get behind our Team Miami FC! The Blues need our help! I'm calling out all The Ultras and the newly formed Southern Legion to come together and cooperate and show MLS what they missed out on!

Our goal is to start off this season on the right foot, lets get a meeting with Miami FC going to ensure we can get flags and instruments into the games. Does anyone play instruments? Do you have access or know students or volunteers who are willing to start a marching band for Miami FC? (Kind of like the Seattle Sounders have...)

We need to look like this:

Ultimately we need to grow into one solid mass of fans that will rally this soccer lazy community. Lets look like this one day:

Lets start this Sunday, March 29th at the Holiday Inn Sunrise 3003 North University Drive - Sunrise, FL.

Lets do it! Vamos Miami FC!

Miami FC fans are making a Second Fan Club "The Southern Legion"

The continuation of Miami FC in USL and in Southern Florida has brought on some new excitement to a Soccer town full of fans with lack of interest for Soccer that is not from their own countries.
Most people have heard of the Miami Ultras, Miami FC's official support group. But, out of the shadows of the failed MLS Miami Barcelona bid comes a group of young soccer fans that want to make a difference.

I spoke to Sean Gibb president of the new group who was brought up to love Soccer by his father. Sean is a fan of Deportivo Cali, a Colombian soccer team. Sean try's play Soccer whenever he can with friends.

I asked Sean a few questions:

Uncle Ed: What is the groups name?
Sean Gibb: "The groups name is Southern Legion (Legion del Sur in Spanish)."

UE: How did the idea get started?
SG: A friend, Luis Rodriguez, and I came up with the idea of starting a hardcore fanatics supporters group, like the one's you would see in Colombia. So we created the Facebook page to start getting some members.

UE: What is your target crowd and how many members are in your group so far?
SG: We are trying to target the younger crowd, to bring some energy to the stadium. Anyone is welcome to join, but we are mostly targeting the Hispanics of Miami. We currently have over 90 members in our Facebook group.

UE: Have you had any contact with Miami FC?
SG: We have not had any contact with Miami FC yet since we are only about 1-2 months old.

UE: Have you thought of being part of the Ultras?
SG: We have been in contact with the Ultras and look forward to working with them in the future. But in regards to being part of the Ultras, I don't think that would happen since we are trying to create a different type of group with a different vibe. Plus, maybe a little friendly competition between groups will help bring more people to the stands! hahaha. Although they do have a slight advantage since they have been around for a while.
UE: I want to thank Sean for his time and wish him the best of luck.
If you would like to be part of this group contact the Southern Legion on Facebook
or email: Southern_Legion@hotmail.com
