If you didn't get a chance be sure to check out Miami Ultras Alive part 6.
The show featured guest Jeff Rusnak who spoke mostly about local WPS team MagicJack and a little about the Strikers. We also had the Strikers PR dude Mr. Ignacio Rodriguez! Someone mentioned a certain Guillermo Barros Schelotto hmmm...

NOTE:
Burrito's Previous blog called "Everything you need to be a perfect Strikers Fan" was deleted by BLOGGER.
Blogger's malfunction deleted many blog post for other blog sites and claimed the issue would be resolved but that never happened and we assume Burrito's masterpiece went the way of the Dodo bird.
Burrito hopes he can somehow use his canine ability's to conjure something similar in the days to come. (The mentioned post was actually one of the most read blog posts this year)

Miami MLS Champions League Final watch party, MLS Miami videos and more...
Talk about MLS... I've never won anything before so when I received an envelope in the mail the other day I was surprised I had won a Major league Soccer T-Shirt. Here is how I won it:
facebook page! Check it out below:
The push for MLS to Miami continues and it is being talked about in Bigsoccer and other forums not to mention blogs and other media.
Following are videos of recent mentions of MLS Miami, both in Spanish. This one is from ESPN's Jorge Ramos y su banda. They even mention the Miami Ultras.
This video is from an MLS game transmitted on Galavision, one of the Univision channels. They constantly mention MLS Miami in their broadcasts.

MagicJack and Strikers win. Road trip to Atlanta pictures.

Ella Masar scored in the 26th minute for magicJack, who dominated possession early in the first half. Abby Wambach set up Masar's goal, playing the ball across the box before Masar beat Breakers keeper Alyssa Naeher. The Breakers (1-2-0, 3 points) had a number of opportunities after Masar's goal, but all were turned away by magicJack keeper Jillian Loyden (12 saves).Read more HERE
Over 1200 people filled the stands and sat on the grass to see this game. A great beginning to what we hope will be the first of many victories. The next game will be Sunday, May 1 against Philadelphia Independence at 4pm ET.

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers gained their first victory of the season by beating the Atlanta Silverbacks 2-1 in Atlanta.
Fort Lauderdale went ahead in the 14th minute as Martin Nunez calmly chipped the ball over Atlanta’s keeper Felipe Quintero. Aaron Wheeler assisted on the goal as he controlled a Paulinho pass and then played it down into the path of Nunez for the chip. The goal is Nunez's first of the season.Read more HERE
Minutes later, Mexican International Mario Perez launched violent shot from just outside the box past Strikers keeper Nic Platter. Once the score was leveled, the Silverbacks and the Strikers exchanged opportunities throughout the rest of the half.
Strikers substitute Yoximar Granado was tackled in the box by Atlanta defender Tyler Ruthven in minute 87. Ruthven was shown a yellow card and the Strikers were awarded a penalty. Almost mirroring last weeks match Eduardo Coudet stepped up to the spot and launched the ball past the keeper to give the Strikers its first win of the season.
The Strikers continue their road trip by visiting Div2 Champions Puerto Rico Islanders on Friday April 29 at 8:05 pm in Estadio Juan Ramón Loubriel. You can watch that game live on www.strikers.com

Strikers road trip to Atlanta and MagicJack season opener Saturday.

Members of the Miami Ultras and Flight 19 took it upon themselves to organize this first road trip of the season, which also happens to be the first visit of any visiting supporters group to Atlanta.
The Strikers supporters left last night and will enjoy their stay in the greater Atlanta area vising a few cool tourist sites and meeting up with the Atlanta Silverbacks supporters group Westside 109.
Following are pictures of the trip so far.

WPS team MagicJack starts off their season this Saturday, as they challenge the Boston Breakers in Boca Raton. MagicJack was set to start their season last week but a thunderstorm canceled the game.
Regrettably very little has been released from the team, notably the website is not even up yet... But what we do know is that MagicJack has a great team that should, at least in my opinion fight for the championship. The team will be playing in Boca Raton on the campus of Florida Atlantic University.
Following is the full home schedule:

WPS - MagicJack
One of the first things we spoke about on the show was South Florida's new Women's Professional Soccer team called MagicJack. The team was set to start it's season this past weekend when they visited the Philadelphia Independence but the game was postponed due to a thunderstorm.
MagicJack will now play its season opener at 7:00 pm this Saturday April 23 at FAU Soccer Field in Boca Raton versus the Boston Breakers.
Not very much is known about MagicJack. For some reason details about the team has been limited, but fear not, their website seems to be under construction so that is a good sign... I think.
What we do know is that the teams roster is full of U.S. national team players. On paper, MagicJack's roster is impressive. With players like Abby Wambach, Shannon Boxx, Lindsay Tarpley, Goalkeeper Hope Solo (Who is suspended for comments made on twitter last season) and Australian Lisa De Vanna just to name a few.

We have all heard about Chad Ochocinco and his latest tryout with MLS side Sporting Kansas City. But did you know he was practicing with the Strikers before his tryout?
The first true test came when Ochocinco joined several of the Strikers players for a friendly kickaround at their stadium. Suffice to say, he didn’t disappoint despite going up against the likes of central defender Zach Kirby, a former Los Angeles Galaxy draft pick, and veteran goalkeeper Nic Platter, who’s faced his fair share of players during six season in division two soccer in the U.S.Read more about Ochocinco's MLS Tryout

News out of MagicJack (Formerly Washington Freedom, we think?) is almost hard to come by. The season is set to start and details are still sketchy. We know the team will play in Boca Raton at FAU but no real marketing has taken place. We were able to stumble on the following:
Potomac Soccer Wire was fortunate enough to catch up with Borislow in Richmond, Va. last Sunday, where his “other team,” the Palm Beach MagicJacks 96/97 side which features his daughter Kylie, won top honors in Under-14 competition at the Jefferson Cup youth tournament.Following is the video:
We will try to give you further information once we get it.
The possible roster of the team can be found HERE

Following is some intresting information about the team:
One notable is magicJack's inclusion of two goalkeepers after mutually terminating rights with Canadian goalkeeper Erin McLeod. Jillian Loyden, formerly of the Chicago Red Stars, and Brett Maron, formerly of the Atlanta Beat, have joined the Florida-based team. Both have backed up magicJack's Hope Solo in goal—Loyden in St. Louis Athletica and the U.S. WNT, and Maron in Atlanta.

Hope Solo... Welcome to South Florida. Burrito loves you!

Si señoras y señores, Burrito's new chew toy is muy bonita and is maybe the best goalkeeper in the WPS. She will play with the MagicJack's Washington Freedom or a name something like that and will play at FAU stadium in Boca Raton.
But before Burrito continue he have to put up picture of Hope in Bikini!

Other than Burrito's girlfriend Hope Solo, the MagicJack's Washington Freedom (or whatever their name will be) will have some of the best womens players in the world like U.S. internationals Christie Rampone, Shannon Boxx, Lindsay Tarpley, Abby Wambach and Australian Lisa DeVanna only to name a few.
Here is video of Hope Solo:

Talk is heating up that Beckham will, when his contract expires after this season, execute the clause in his contract that allows him to purchase an MLS expansion team, and that Miami is the best bet. British tabloid People last month reported Beckham “will be offered a chance” to make Miami the league's 20th team, in part because a clause in his contract won't allow him to invest in teams in Los Angeles or New York.Do you want MLS to return?
