As I wrote on the Orlando Sentinel Blog, I hope one day the United States will make Football...ummm, Soccer, an "essential good" like a judge claims in Brazil! (At least I wish... ) From Reuters 'Oddly Enough'!

Miami FCB / Barca Miami. Why are there so many haters? Does Miami deserve a team?

No matter where I go it seems every blog, news article or discussion board has a large group of haters just waiting to comment with something negative about a Major League Soccer team being awarded to Miami... and I wonder why? Did someone from Miami treat them bad? Maybe their vacation in Miami was that terrible? Perhaps it was an ex-girlfriend from Miami? Whatever the case I'm here to Finally confront these mere pathetic mortals with a little reality!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Folks, I'm sorry you live in Cold places, I'm sorry our women are beautiful, I'm sorry that one of the two new teams that will be part of Major League Soccer will be a team out of Miami. Sucks to be you but thats just the way the cookie crumbles!

Sure, go ahead and comment about how the last team in Miami failed (It was actually in Ft Lauderdale), go ahead and cry about how the fans didn't show up (In the last year of the Miami Fusion; attendance went up almost 50%), complain about the weather (I got nothing on that except it doesn't snow here and thats still great!). No Stadium to play in? FIU's brand new stadium is there, regulation Fifa size and everything! Why all the complaining? Jealous people my friends, because when it gets down to it.... Where do most people want to go? Let me see some hands...who wants to go to Canada? anyone for St Louis? Portland? Ok, ok, Miami anyone?

So why will it be different this time? Deep pockets! Miami Fusions last owner didn't have them and wasn't willing to stick it out so it wasn't the fans that failed the team, the fans were there. If the MLS could take it back I'm sure they would have kept Miami because of Location, location, location. Thats why they always wanted to come back.

The difference today is that Barcelona of Spain is one of the investors. The diffrence today is that Soccer in this town is being played more then ever! In every park, empty lot, back yard, kids, adults, animals, you name it! They are all playing the game. We have a large support group in the Miami Ultras Fan Club, (Go and join!) We have Soccer academys from Homestead to the Palm Beaches! Things are better organized.

When the news comes in January; I'll be very surprised if Miami doesn't get a team. Shocked is the word. At the end of the day Miami is where its going to be. Because if you ask any player in the world, where would you want to play if given a choice in the USA? It would be Miami.

Ronaldo de Assis Moreira (born March 21, 1980 in Porto Alegre), commonly known as Ronaldinho or Ronaldinho Gaúcho,[3] is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Italian Serie A club A.C. Milan and the Brazil national team.

Ronaldinho, Portuguese for "little Ronaldo", is known in Brazil by the nickname Ronaldinho Gaúcho, in order to distinguish him from Ronaldo, who was already called "Ronaldinho" in Brazil. Ronaldo simply went by his first name upon his move to Europe, thereby allowing Ronaldinho to drop the "Gaúcho" and remain simply as Ronaldinho.

He has played for Paris Saint-Germain, and FC Barcelona, with whom he won his first Champions League in 2006. He became a Spanish citizen in January 2007.[4]

Career
Born into a footballing family (his late father Joao played for Cruzeiro and his brother, now his manager, Roberto played for Gremio), the young Ronaldinho found more enjoyment in futsal and beach football before graduating to playing the standard game.

He began his football career at his brother's old club Gremio in the youth team under future Brazil World Cup winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and progressed to the first team aged 18 in 1998 and had made his Brazilian national team debut a year later in 1999.

His goalscoring exploits and sublime skill on the ball drew much attention from Europe and in 2001 Ronaldinho left Gremio to move to France and Paris St. Germain. His time in Paris was littered with fallings out with then PSG coach Luis Fernandez who disapproved of Ronaldinho's love of Parisian nightlife and after two mildly successful years in France he again packed his bags and headed for Barcelona.

In his first season at Barcelona Ronaldinho more than justified his reputed £18m price tag as he helped coax the Catalan giants into second place in La Liga and earnt himself the title of 2004 World Player of the Year.

Having caught the eye of big spending Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, Ronaldinho was the subject of a failed £60m bid from the West London club and despite the resignation of his friend Sandor Rosell as Barcelona's vice president of sports, he signed a new contract in late 2005 with the Catalan club.

As well as helping Barcelona to back to back La Liga titles in 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 and the European Champion's League in 2006, Ronaldinho has also won a host of personal awards including:

A brand of condoms named after football ace David Beckham has taken the Chinese contraceptive market under its sway. A Chinese company has plastered David Beckham’s name on condoms, claiming users will score with the ladies.

The packet bears the words ‘Bonk Like Beckham’, which recalls Victoria’s recent statements on David’s big and active sexual appetite.

It’s reported that the brand is now the biggest-selling condom brand in China. But sales of the condoms might be stopped. Apparently, this is not an official endorsement; the makers just slapped Beckham’s picture on there without asking for his permission.

Chinese fans of the LA Galaxy soccer star, however, want the marketing of these condoms banned.

“We do not want Beckham to think the Chinese people are disrespecting him. We love him here,” one said.

Ryan Gigg - Manchester United Forever

Ryan Joseph Giggs OBE[1] (born Ryan Joseph Wilson on 29 November 1973 in Cardiff) is a Welsh footballer, currently playing for Manchester United in the English Premiership, and formerly for the Welsh national team prior to his retirement from international football on June 2, 2007. Giggs received an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List, alongside his former team mate Teddy Sheringham, who received an MBE.

Giggs' father was Danny Wilson, a noted Rugby League player, and his mother was Lynne Giggs. Although born in Cardiff, he was raised in Pendlebury, England and speaks with a Mancunian accent. His father was of mixed race (of Sierra Leonean ancestry) and Giggs has always expressed pride at his mixed heritage.[2]

Giggs is Manchester United's longest-serving current player, having made his first appearance for the club during the 1990-91 season and been a regular player since the 1991-92 season. He has played the second highest number of competitive games for the club (second only to Bobby Charlton), and holds the club record of team trophies won by a player (23).[3] Since 1992, he has collected nine Premier League winners' medals, four FA Cup winner's medals, two League Cup winner's medals and one Champions League winner's medal. He also has runners-up medals from two FA Cup finals and two League Cup finals, as well as being part of four United teams who have finished second in the league.

Giggs captained England Schoolboys (which all schoolboys in England are eligible to play for, regardless of nationality), but played for the Welsh national team as an adult. He also won the PFA Young Player of the Year award twice (1992 and 1993), making him the first player to win the award in consecutive years - a feat matched only by Robbie Fowler and current team-mate Wayne Rooney.
